THE GICLEE PROCESS
The French word "giclee" means "sprayed", and the process is actually a highly refined version of an ink jet printer and the image is created from a high resolution scan. The quality and longevity of the finished product is enhanced by using archival, acid-free, museum quality paper which presents an image that rivals the original drawing. My images have been reproduced on paper of the same weight and texture as the paper used for the original artwork.Because graphite(pencil) tends to shine, the giclee process gives a matte finish, and also reduces any glare from the pencil. This process also allows reproduction in quantities as small as one at a time, from the scan.
